Job Summary
Public Health RN position in Alamosa County focusing on preventive health services within the public health framework. Responsibilities include communicable disease control, immunization program management (on-site and off-site clinics), emergency preparedness, health education, tobacco prevention, maternal-child health, TB testing/treatment, and interagency collaboration. Requires maintaining licenses/certifications, continuing education, data entry and grant reporting as needed, adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality, and strong communication with community partners. The role involves weekend/evening events, independent work with team collaboration, and providing quality, accessible public health services to the community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Associate’s Degree with 1-2 years related experience and/or training
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License
- Current BLS Certification preferred
- NIMS certification required (can be obtained at job)
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Knowledge of Colorado Nurse Practice Act
- Ability to communicate in English (written and verbal)
- Public health nursing skills (assessment, immunization practices)
- Ability to manage data and use MS Office and secure databases
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
