Job Summary
Plan, prioritize, and supervise staff involved in public health nursing activities by assigning tasks, reviewing work, and implementing goals. Establish schedules for nursing service delivery, coordinate program direction, and manage staff coverage and clinical materials. Evaluate operations, recommend improvements, prepare reports, and administer labor contracts while processing grievances. Conduct chart reviews for quality assurance and ensure program standard alignment. This role supports the Maternal Child & Family Branch's free programs promoting family health from pregnancy through youth. Hybrid work options are available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor's degree from a school approved for community health nursing
- Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in community health nursing
- Two (2) years of experience in nursing supervision
- Two (2) years of experience in program coordination
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Oregon
- Passing a background check
- Possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon
- Acceptable driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of public health nursing
- Knowledge of supervision, training, and performance evaluation
- Knowledge of Reflective Supervision principles and practices
- Familiarity with the NEAR (neurobiology, epigenetics, ACEs, and resilience) science of trauma-informed approaches/care
- Familiarity with related key components of cultural competency
- Experience using and caring for nursing and medical equipment
- Experience of using Electronic Medical Record systems (Ex. EPIC OCHIN)
- Ability to supervise and implement a comprehensive public health nursing program
- Ability to conduct chart review for quality assurance
- Ability to align programs with standards
- Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate assigned staff
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Spanish/English bilingual skills
