Job Summary
Public Health Nurse I provides care for new or expecting parents, older adults, individuals diagnosed with tuberculosis or latent TB, and community groups. Responsibilities include care planning and management, conducting home and field visits, supporting clinics and conferences, advising civic groups on nursing and public health needs, and collaborating with internal and external DHHS partners to achieve desirable outcomes. Work is performed under limited supervision with occasional statewide travel; telework is allowed and daily travel within the assigned district is required. Core duties include applying the nursing process, home environment assessment, documentation in medical records, coordinating client care with hospitals, schools, and social services, and participating in trainings and meetings. Position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, based out of regional State offices in Maine.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse as issued by the State Board of Nursing
