Job Summary

Conduct patient-centered care at eight STI clinics across NYC, including assessment, medication administration, and education for conditions such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV, monkey pox, and TB. Perform problem-focused medical interviews, obtain demographic data, and determine care needs based on symptoms and test results. Provide hard copy intake forms for clinicians, counselors, and social workers while managing partner-related concerns. Assist with medication abortion services by rotating between clinic care and the telemedicine hotline for triage. Execute case-finding activities, counsel patients, refer cases, and follow up on outcomes. Adhere to the Nursing Code of Ethics to promote a safe, compassionate environment that protects patient rights and dignity.

Required Qualifications

  • A valid New York State license as a Registered Nurse
  • A baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited college
  • A master's degree from an accredited college in Nursing, Public Health or a related field
  • Two years of relevant experience in public health or hospital nursing in the field of mental hygiene, communicable diseases, child health, school health, hospital services, rehabilitation, and/or nursing education
  • One year of which must have been in a supervisory, administrative, consultative or educational capacity
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the requirements in item 1
