Job Summary
Public Finance Analyst role focused on managing municipal debt issuance to ensure compliance with federal and state laws. Responsibilities include maintaining all debt-related correspondence and documents, preparing Official Statements and closing reports, serving as liaison between Municipal Advisors, bond counsel, and rating agencies, preparing requests for direct placements and tax increment financing plans, and collaborating on tax increment plans and related documents. Requires 2-4 year degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Math or related and 0-2 years’ experience preferred. Strong data analysis, communication, and Microsoft Office skills; attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Located in Minneapolis, MN; on-site role with no relocation mentioned.
Required Qualifications
- Education: 2-4-year degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math or related, required
- Experience: 0-2 years’ experience or exposure to the municipal bond industry, preferred
- Knowledge/Skills: Ability to fully understand the debt issuance financing processes; solid understanding of state, federal and jurisdictional requirements for all types of municipal financings; aptitude and desire to learn; ability to analyze technical data and develop creative solutions; perform basic math functions accurately; excellent PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office and database programs; well-developed interpersonal skills; clear and concise written and oral communication skills; prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; seek opportunities for continuous improvement; pursue professional development
