Job Summary
Public Educator, Community Programs - lead mental health and addictions education initiatives across the Thames Valley region. Develop and facilitate educational and skill-enhancement training workshops, compile and maintain an inventory of PowerPoint presentations, and deliver engaging workshops for diverse audiences including individuals with lived experience, families, professionals, and the broader public. Build partnerships with community organizations, coordinate trainer resources, plan and participate in events and awareness activities, and evaluate programs to inform new offerings. Responsibilities include researching current education tools, liaising with partners for training needs, supporting staff with resources, and guiding speakers. Requires PVSC, post-secondary education, driver’s license with vehicle access, and strong public speaking and presentation abilities. Preferences include trainer certifications (ASIST, MHFA, Living Life to the Fullest, MH Works), CPI/First Aid/CPR training, bilingualism (English/French), and experience with public outreach and diverse communities.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary university degree or college diploma, preferably in Adult Education, social services or a related field
- Current, satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
- Valid Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle with adequate insurance to carry out job duties
- Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
