Job Summary
Review referred uninsured/under-insured patients for Medicaid benefit or financial assistance eligibility and initiate application processes. Communicate with patients to gather required documents, then follow up on submissions to ensure timely billing or adjustment processing. Update insurance information at the determination point and document all actions in patient accounting systems. Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements while collaborating with Medicaid caseworker partners and revenue cycle departments. This on-site role at Children's Minnesota in Minneapolis supports Ensemble's mission to keep hospitals healthy through meaningful patient interactions.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in healthcare industry, interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues
- High School Diploma or GED
- CRCR certification within 9 months of hire
- Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences
- Must be in Minneapolis, MN (On-Site at Children's Minnesota - Minneapolis Hospital)
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments and denials
- Comprehensive knowledge of patient insurance process for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification
- Knowledge of Health Insurance requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology or CPT or procedure codes
- Patient Access experience with managed care/insurance and Call Center experience
