Job Summary
Review referred uninsured/under-insured patients for Medicaid benefit or financial assistance eligibility, then obtain necessary documents and coordinate application submissions. Follow up on submitted applications to ensure timely billing or adjustment processing, while updating insurance information and documenting all actions in patient accounting systems. Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and collaborate with county, state, and federal Medicaid caseworker partners. This role is located on-site at the Stamford - Main Hospital in Stamford, CT. Candidates must be inquisitive and open to innovation, including AI, to improve patient experiences. Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in healthcare industry, interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues
- CRCR certification (Required within 9 months of hire)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences
- Must be available for On-Site work at Stamford - Main Hospital in Stamford, CT
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments and denials
- Comprehensive knowledge of patient insurance process for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification
- Knowledge of Health Insurance requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology or CPT or procedure codes
- Patient Access experience with managed care/insurance and Call Center experience
