Job Summary
Clean and maintain all public areas, including restrooms, walkways, dining spaces, and outdoor seating, ensuring they meet the highest standards. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors while regularly emptying trash and recycling bins. Check and restock restroom supplies, sanitize high-touch surfaces, and arrange outdoor furniture for guests. Answer guest questions, direct visitors, and report hazards or maintenance needs to supervisors. Handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow proper hand-in/out procedures. Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, assisting other departments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, organized work area
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure cleanliness and guest satisfaction
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as sweeping, mopping, lifting, and bending for extended periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, as this position involves maintaining both indoor and outdoor spaces
- Ability to handle cleaning chemicals and equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- A strong attendance record and reliable work ethic
- Must enjoy the outdoors—working in a beautiful outdoor environment within Acadia National Park
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in cleaning or custodial work is preferred, but not required
