Job Summary
Secure high-impact locations for bus stops and stations by leveraging government relationships and private-sector negotiation skills. Build and maintain strategic partnerships with public and private entities to navigate complex regulatory processes and establish access to high-value transportation hubs. Lead region strategy by aligning commercial objectives with government policies, identifying opportunities, and mitigating risks across jurisdictions. Represent the company in discussions with transportation authorities, preparing materials for hearings and public consultations while ensuring compliance with zoning, permitting, and safety standards. Manage up to two direct reports and serve as the primary contact for station-related government relations matters. Up to 30% business travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Communications or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or real estate development, including work with government entities
- Demonstrated success in owning business strategy and securing agreements with government agencies or private stakeholders to support business growth
- 2+ years of project management experience with strong knowledge of transportation regulations and public transit systems
- 1+ years of people management experience or experience leading cross-functional teams with in-direct reporting lines
- Skilled in negotiation, stakeholder management, and analyzing policies to identify risks and opportunities
- Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with experience presenting to senior officials and business leaders
- Familiarity with real estate transactions, land-use planning, and infrastructure development
- Up to 30% business travel as needed
- Manage up to two direct reports, depending on organizational needs, with responsibilities evolving over time
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with RFPs and grant writing is a plus but not required
