Job Summary
Prepare platelet products meeting FDA and AABB safety, purity, and potency requirements, including sampling and testing QC samples. Perform visual inspections, labeling, and segregation of blood products, while managing release, quarantine, or discard procedures. Execute weekly, monthly, and annual inventory checks, conduct label stress testing, and maintain accurate records. Troubleshoot equipment issues, respond to environmental alarms, and perform general lab cleaning and printer maintenance. Push carts up to 100 lbs and assist with supply receipt.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or higher
- College credits equivalent to an associate degree preferred
- Working knowledge of AABB, FDA, and OSHA regulations
- Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems
- Knowledge of a variety of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Must be able to confidently communicate and interpret immediate information in English to all members of the public and CBC staff
- Ability to push/pull a wheeled cart up to 100 lbs
