Job Summary
Administer physical therapy treatments and interventions as established by the Registered Physical Therapist, assisting residents in achieving maximum physical function and independence. Monitor resident response to treatment, write observations of behavior and progress in Progress Notes, and accurately document treatments and outcomes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans while maintaining compliance with facility, state, and federal standards. Keep supplies in good order, perform daily sanitation of equipment, and assist with in-service training programs. Arrive on time, utilize the electronic timekeeping system, and observe resident confidentiality and privacy.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current PTA licensure in New York State (or eligibility for licensure)
- Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Current, valid CPR/BLS credentials
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
- Arrives to work on time, regularly, and working as scheduled
- Responsible for own transportation
- Utilizes electronic timekeeping system
- Observes and practices confidentiality of resident information and privacy
- Recognizes and follows the dress code of the facility including wearing name tag at all times
- Performs assigned duties according to the service excellence standards and goals established for this position
