Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and implement treatment programs for patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, or neurological disorders. Perform basic physical therapy skills, monitor patient progress, and adjust goals based on assessment findings. Document care accurately, communicate with physicians and insurance companies, and supervise rehabilitation technicians. Provide one-on-one therapy during Saturday and Sunday shifts with two 10-hour days, including orientation during the week. Requires a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Physical Therapy, current Texas license, and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university-based Physical Therapy program
- Current or temporary license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission
- Current certification in Basic Life Support
- Doctoral degree along with a residency or fellowship program
- Licensed therapist with 30 hours of continuing competence activities in differential diagnosis
- Current license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission
- Occasional/frequent pushing and lifting 75 – 100 pounds and carrying of up to 30 pounds
- Prolonged standing
- Frequent walking, stooping and squatting
- Fine hand dexterity
- Eye-hand coordination
- The ability to receive oral and written communication
- To communicate verbally and in writing
- The visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment
- Recognize alphanumeric characters
- Distinguish colors
- Observe physical characteristics
