Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, interpret findings, and develop written plans of care with specific goals for neurological rehabilitation patients. Implement physical therapy treatment programs, perform basic therapeutic skills, and monitor progress toward treatment objectives while adjusting plans as needed. Provide direct instruction and motivation to patients and caregivers, manage time effectively, and ensure safe care by adhering to all hospital policies and standards. Document all interactions and treatments accurately in medical records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university-based Physical Therapy program
- Current or temporary license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission
- Current certification in Basic Life Support
- Doctoral degree along with a residency or fellowship program
- Licensed therapist with 30 hours of continuing competence activities in differential diagnosis
- Current license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission
- Ability to push and lift 75 – 100 pounds
- Ability to carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to walk frequently
- Ability to stoop and squat frequently
- Fine hand dexterity
- Eye-hand coordination
- Ability to receive oral and written communication
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment
- Ability to recognize alphanumeric characters
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to observe physical characteristics
