Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, interpret findings, and develop written plans of care with specific goals for neurological rehabilitation patients. Implement physical therapy treatment programs, perform basic therapy skills, and monitor progress to adjust goals and plans as needed. Instruct and motivate patients and caregivers while communicating effectively with physicians, insurance companies, and professional colleagues. Manage time effectively, document accurately in medical records, and ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors in compliance with hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university-based Physical Therapy program
- Current or temporary license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission
- Current certification in Basic Life Support
- Doctoral degree along with a residency or fellowship program
- Licensed therapist with 30 hours of continuing competence activities in differential diagnosis
- Current license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission
- Ability to push and lift 75 – 100 pounds
- Ability to carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to walk frequently
- Ability to stoop and squat frequently
- Fine hand dexterity
- Eye-hand coordination
- Ability to receive oral and written communication
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment
- Ability to recognize alphanumeric characters
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to observe physical characteristics
