Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and implement treatment programs for patients with neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and limb loss. Deliver one-on-one therapy with no concurrent treatment expectations, while monitoring progress, adjusting goals, and instructing patients or caregivers. Manage time effectively, document care in medical records, and communicate with physicians, insurance companies, and interdisciplinary teams. Perform basic physical therapy skills and supervise assistants and technicians under delegated authority.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university-based Physical Therapy program
- Current or temporary license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission
- Current certification in Basic Life Support
- Doctoral degree along with a residency or fellowship program
- Licensed therapist with 30 hours of continuing competence activities in differential diagnosis
- Current license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission
- Ability to push and lift 75 – 100 pounds
- Ability to carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to walk frequently
- Ability to stoop and squat frequently
- Fine hand dexterity
- Eye-hand coordination
- Ability to receive oral and written communication
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment
- Ability to recognize alphanumeric characters
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to observe physical characteristics
