Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, interpret findings, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, or limb loss. Implement basic physical therapy treatments, monitor patient progress toward goals, and adjust care programs as needed. Provide direct instruction to patients and caregivers, communicate with physicians and insurance companies, and document all interactions accurately in medical records. Manage time effectively while ensuring safe care for patients, staff, and visitors in accordance with Memorial Hermann policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university-based Physical Therapy program
- Current or temporary license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission
- Current certification in Basic Life Support
- Doctoral degree along with a residency or fellowship program
- Licensed therapist with 30 hours of continuing competence activities in differential diagnosis
- Current license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission
- Ability to push and lift 75 – 100 pounds
- Ability to carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to walk frequently
- Ability to stoop and squat frequently
- Fine hand dexterity
- Eye-hand coordination
- Ability to receive oral and written communication
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment
- Ability to recognize alphanumeric characters
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to observe physical characteristics
