Job Summary
Train, schedule, and support museum volunteers while serving as the primary point of contact for volunteer questions and concerns. Ensure volunteers follow museum policies, safety procedures, and codes of conduct, and support emergency or incident procedures as trained. Track and report volunteer participation, engagement, and membership activity internally. Administer the guest membership program, including inquiries, enrollments, renewals, and benefits, while maintaining accurate volunteer and membership records. Coordinate volunteer assignments to support daily operations and public programs, and collaborate with museum staff to ensure a welcoming environment. Assist with promoting outreach efforts and community engagement related to volunteers and memberships. Work primarily Wednesday through Saturday for seven hours per day, with some evening and weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Utah driver's license within 180 of hire
- Visual ability to see clearly at close (less than 20 inches) and far (20 feet or more) distances, and judge distances and spatial relationships
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends
- Schedule primarily Wednesday through Saturday for 7 hours per day
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in history, communications, hospitality, business, or a related field
- Three years or more of experience in volunteer coordination, membership services, customer service, or a related field
- Experience with managing volunteers using PastPerfect
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Canva, and Adobe Acrobat
