Job Summary
Youth Development Professional (YDP) for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas summer program. Part-time, seasonal role delivering hands-on in-house programming including social recreation, team-building activities, and a safe, welcoming environment for members aged 6–18. Responsibilities include delivering age-appropriate programs across BGCD core areas, orienting new members, monitoring behavior, maintaining records and reports, assisting with club operations and program registration, janitorial/maintenance tasks, and supporting the Program Director. Must demonstrate passion for positive impact on youth, strong behavioral guidance, leadership, teamwork, and effective communication. Requires High School Diploma or GED, 18+ years old, ability to pass background check, CPR/First Aid certifications, and prior experience with youth; additional training or experience in youth development preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- 18+ years old
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have at least one year experience working with children
- Combined experience and/or formal training equivalent to a minimum of 6 months where there is experience working with youth and knowledge of youth development
- Formal training, and/or experience teaching youth while creating engaging learning experiences
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
- Ability to de-escalate problems when present, as well as problem-solve during day-today-club activities
- Ability to plan and implement quality learning programs for youth
- Ability to control and manage a group of children through different activities
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications
