Job Summary
Oversee the Before and After School Care on-site program to ensure safe, enriching operation aligned with BASCC Quality Standards; requires strong supervision, coordination with staff and parents, and adherence to training requirements. Focus areas include safeguarding children, implementing BASCC supervision components, conducting ongoing staff development, and maintaining communication with families. The role requires First Aid/CPR, CDA credential, and completion of supervisor trainings within specified timelines, plus ongoing BASCC-related trainings annually. Qualifications include high school diploma or GED or an Associate’s Degree/60 college hours, 3–5+ years with school-age supervision, and computer literacy as needed.
Required Qualifications
- A standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Education Development (GED) Testing Program.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience and/or training in working with school-age children in a group supervision setting.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification and National or State Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) required; specialty in School Age Child Care (preferred).
- Must successfully complete within the first year of employment the Before and After School Child Care Department’s Supervisor’s Training and within six (6) months BASCC Comprehensive Component I and II.
- Must take at least 10 hours of additional BASCC approved training yearly.
- Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication.
- Proven ability to work effectively with adult staff and parents.
- Computer skills required as needed for the position.
- An earned Associate’s Degree or 60 semester hours of college credit from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience and/or training in working with school-age children in a group supervision setting.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
