Job Summary
Provide fast, easy, friendly service to customers in a Food Lion front-end role. Key responsibilities include greeting customers by name when possible, unloading groceries to facilitate bagging, scanning orders and handling payment transactions, adhering to bagging procedures and fraud/cash-handling controls, processing refunds/overrides, maintaining cash accuracy, assisting customers to their cars when needed, keeping work areas neat, and completing required training. Requires strong customer service skills, ability to operate cash register and related equipment, physical ability to stand for long periods and lift light to medium loads, and adherence to company policies and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
- Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center
- Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
