Job Summary
The part-time Registered Dietitian will collaborate with a full-time Registered Dietitian to assess and improve the nutritional status of patients in a skilled nursing facility. Responsibilities include working on Minimum Data Sets (MDS), care plans, and closely coordinating with the Dietary Manager. Candidates must possess a strong foundational knowledge of nutrition principles, demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, and have leadership qualities. Understanding of dietary management and sanitation guidelines, along with a sincere interest in geriatric nutrition, is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a sincere interest in geriatric nutrition
- Thorough knowledge of nutrition principles
- Ability to assess nutritional status and plan care for patients
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Good mental and physical condition
- Leadership qualities and ability to cooperate with Food and Nutrition Services partners
- Knowledge of dietary management, safety/sanitation, food production, and nutrition principles
- Willingness to fulfill responsibilities and arrive on time for scheduled shifts
- May require a Food Handlers Certificate or Sanitation Course as per state regulations
- May require licensure or certification as a dietitian according to state guidelines.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in clinical dietetics
- Completion of a Dietetic Internship or similar training
