Job Summary
Assist patients through the registration process while introducing them to the facility to reduce anxiety and serve as a liaison for patients, families, hospital management, and staff to ensure satisfaction and quality service. Process health information by assembling analysis, releasing information, and processing medical records. Maintain accuracy in extensive clerical work and collect post and balance cash. Requires a minimum of three years of experience in healthcare or customer service, basic computer application knowledge, and effective communication skills. Background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse is mandatory. This role guarantees a minimum of two 12-hour shifts per month with additional hours assigned based on departmental needs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a health care and/or customer service related industry
- High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
- Background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
Desired Qualifications
- Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications
- Effective communication skills and ability to handle difficult customers or situations
- Experience in patient interviewing
- Flexibility for weekend, holiday, and other shift work
- General knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance
- Ability to be cross-trained on all processes and be able to train staff on these processes
- Ability to collect post and balance cash
- Ability to perform extensive clerical work with accuracy and speed
- Typing skills of forty (40) words per minute
