Job Summary
Administer, pour, pass, and document all routinely prescribed medications per physician orders while observing the five rights for safe administration. Order medications from the pharmacy 7 days prior to running out, ensure they arrive, and notify the Wellness Director within 24 hours if delayed. Document each administration in the resident's medical record, date and initial the bubble pack, and take vital signs prior to administration as ordered. Administer PRN medications, observe and report reactions or side effects, and immediately report any medication errors. Assist with resident care tasks including toileting, grooming, bathing, feeding, and moving residents, while ensuring their privacy, safety, and dignity. Work evening shifts from 2pm to 10pm with a $500 sign-on bonus and pay ranging from $21.00 to $23.00.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of state approved Medication Administration training
- First Aid certification as required by the ALF regulations
- QMAP in the state of CO
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience administering medication in an assisted living setting
- Must be capable of making decisions with the interest of the residents at heart
- Must be supportive of company policies and decisions
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procurement manuals, etc
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English
- Must be able to understand and follow written and oral directions
- Must show good judgement in recognizing symptoms indicative of a resident's change in condition
- Must be aware of limitations and not attempt to exceed these limitations
- Knowledge of required Medication Administration Procedures
- Good understanding of basis of universal precautions to avoid infection of residents and self or contamination of equipment and supplies
- Minimum three years' experience in senior living preferred
- Previous experience with an Assisted Living community
Desired Qualifications
- Some previous experience in health-care
- Must have experience working in Assisted Living or Memory Care with a good work record
- A passion to work with seniors
