Job Summary

Administer medications to residents according to state regulations and community policies, including oral, eye, nasal, ear, and topical drugs while documenting safely. Verify physician orders against medication forms, use drug references when unsure, and maintain cleanliness and proper storage of all drugs. Monitor resident conditions by making rounds, answering call lights and alarms promptly, and administering vital signs. Count drugs on Individual Control Drug Records with the on-coming charge person at shift change and keep medical records current with co-signature by a licensed nurse. Work overtime as needed and comply with HIPAA privacy practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work overtime
  • Successful completion of a state approved training program in medication administration
  • Must complete annual medication evaluation with Registered Pharmacy Consultant
  • Current-CPR Certification
  • Current QMA Certificate for current state
