Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events within a Michaels store, including kids birthday parties and craft classes, while delivering friendly customer service and ensuring a fast, checkout experience. Responsibilities include event coordination, face painting and activities, managing setup/breakdown, communicating with clients and store team, handling administrative tasks (emails, calls, paperwork), adjusting plans per client feedback, creating backup/emergency plans, participating in truck unload, planogram/cadence of merchandise, and cross-trained framing sales. Emphasis on engaging guests of all ages (4 to 94+), promoting Rewards/VOC programs, assisting with omnichannel processes (BOPIS/SFS), and maintaining store cleanliness and safety per SOPs; ability to work nights, weekends, and early mornings in a climate-controlled public retail environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
- Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
- Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Retail and/or customer service experience required.
