Job Summary
Design, execute, and perform quality checks on ingredients and finished products while using icing, glazes, fillings, and decorations to enhance item presentation. Process customer orders accurately and maintain an appealing showcase with fresh, high-quality bakery products. Clean workstations and equipment to ensure the bakery area operates smoothly during rush periods. Monitor inventory in refrigeration units, record prepared items and waste on production sheets, and regularly check temperatures of required products. Assist in serving guests in the Restaurant Front when necessary and promptly address guest concerns to ensure satisfaction. Follow all operational standards, health and safety procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements in a busy quick-service environment.
Required Qualifications
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight from <5 – 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate cash register system requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of electronic devices
- Ability to work in cold/freezing temperatures and high heat temperatures
- Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction
- Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
- Ability to use and wear a headset, if needed, to take and process customer orders
- Ability to verbally communicate to exchange information
- Ability to prepare a variety of food and beverage items
- Ability to work with/train other employees
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions, tasks, and position changes
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation
- Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures
- Knowledge of personal protective equipment or clothing requirements
- Knowledge of how to report injuries, accidents, unsafe conditions, or contraventions of health and safety regulations
- Knowledge of how to operate equipment and machinery safely
- Ability to follow operational standards and guidelines for product preparation and equipment operation
- Ability to monitor inventory of bakery products in the fridge and freezer
- Ability to prepare products in appropriate quantities to minimize waste
- Ability to record prepared items and waste on the production sheet
- Ability to respond to showcase and product needs communicated by the Restaurant Front
- Ability to assist in serving guests in the Restaurant Front when necessary
- Ability to monitor and record temperatures of required products, fridges, and freezers
- Ability to adhere to all restaurant policies, procedures, and standards
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen
