PT Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Conduct general building maintenance including wall patching, painting, carpentry, plumbing repairs, and basic electrical work at the Wilmington Convention Center. Perform event-related tasks such as power drops, re-lamping, and ceiling tile replacement while troubleshooting facility issues and servicing air conditioning systems. Complete work orders, summarize daily projects for the Director of Operations, and act as a liaison between the facility, clients, and outside contractors to ensure safety code compliance. Maintain clean work areas and notify leadership of equipment needing repairs or low inventory. Available for long, irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays to support live events.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Two or more years of relevant experience in general repair and preventative maintenance
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard techniques in painting, plumbing, carpentry, building hardware, and electrical/lighting systems
- Possess a forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment
- Available to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to event functions, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Trade school coursework and/or trade certificates
- Experience with IT hardlines and CAT 5e, 6
