Job Summary
Provide total nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing setting, visiting each resident throughout the shift and instructing C.N.A.s on specific needs. Interact with staff, families, and physicians to ensure optimum care while documenting all pertinent information daily and administering medications according to established procedures. Encourage resident participation in unit activities and supervise unlicensed staff, including C.N.A.s, by providing direction and assisting in orientation for new employees. Maintain a professional demeanor while demonstrating leadership through example and keeping the Charge Nurse informed of unit performance.
Required Qualifications
- Must be licensed (LPN) by the state of South Carolina and in good standing with a current active license
- Must have the ability and knowledge to act in a supervisory capacity
- BLS certified OR willingness to get certified within 3 months of employment
- Consistently demonstrate professionalism and clinical skills
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written
