Job Summary
Part-time Learning Specialist for the Comprehensive Assistance Program (CAP) at Iona University. Responsibilities include one-on-one academic coaching and skill development, teaching organizational strategies, time management, study techniques, test-taking strategies, and supporting students with learning differences. Requires a Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field, plus experience with students with disabilities. Position involves collaboration with CAP team, outreach to students, and participation in staff meetings; 18–29 hours per week during standard business hours in New Rochelle, NY. Proactively maintains records and contributes to program promotion and recruitment activities.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling or similar field
- Experience teaching students with disabilities in High School or at the Post-Secondary Level
- Experience working with students with learning differences
- Ability to take initiative to assist students with problem solving and helping students communicate with instructors
- Must be willing to work with a structured team
