Job Summary
Kitchen Manager/Lead Cook at Genesee Country Village & Museum oversees daily kitchen operations, supervises 8-10 seasonal staff, manages inventory and production schedules, ensures food safety and compliance, collaborates with the F&B Director on recipes, portioning, and standards, trains kitchen personnel, monitors food cost and waste, and assists with employment decisions. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership in food preparation, inventory control, and staff development within a part-time schedule (30-32 hours per week) including regular weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 Years of experience as a Lead Cook or Kitchen Manager
- Experience overseeing/training a staff of 3-5 including food prep, food safety, cleaning, and maintenance
- proficiency in inventory management/software
- Sysco ordering systems knowledge is a plus
- Experience in Menu Planning and Recipe Development
