Job Summary
Assist licensed physical therapists in conducting initial evaluations and assessments of patients' physical conditions, functional abilities, and rehabilitation needs. Observe and participate in the collection of patient medical histories, then collaborate with the rehabilitation team to develop individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations and goals. Under direct supervision, provide hands-on therapeutic interventions including exercises, therapeutic activities, and modalities, while assisting in educating patients and families regarding home exercise programs and injury prevention. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatments and progress in the electronic medical records system. Adhere to hospital policies, safety guidelines, and infection control protocols during all patient interactions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Enrolled in an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Recent graduate waiting to take the licensing examination
- 0-1 year of experience required
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in physical therapy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to learn and contribute to patient care
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with the rehabilitation team
- Physical ability to assist and support patients during therapeutic activities
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards
