Job Summary
Develop a relevant curriculum for the Non-degree Fire program and deliver high-quality instruction to part-time students across day, evening, and weekend classes. Evaluate student performance, provide regular feedback, and advise students on course selection, internships, and career concerns. Continually revise the curriculum to improve learning outcomes while engaging in professional development activities. Serve as an advocate for students by assisting with networking, job shadowing, and securing letters of recommendation. Participate in department, school, and college service activities and team meetings. Submit an application with a resume, cover letter, and transcripts before the January 31, 2027 deadline.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Two years' experience coordinating and/or leading training and learning
- Certification as a Fire & Emergency Services Instructor (FESI) with the WTCS prior to completion of onboarding (within 6-months)
- Ability to teach courses at non-degree continuing education levels
- Ability to communicate complex and difficult concepts and ideas to students with varied backgrounds and levels of preparedness
- Ability to learn new and emerging technologies and incorporate them into the classroom and curriculum
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues on course and program promotion, direction and innovation
- Must maintain [FESI certification] throughout employment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

- Knowledge/experience with current educational methods/strategies such as learner-centered instruction, active learning, assessment, evaluation, collaborative techniques, and strategies aimed at closing the achievement gaps across race, gender, class, and disability
