PT Instructor Pool - Mechanical Design Technology

Job Summary
Teach part-time Mechanical Design Technology courses to adult students at the associate degree level, and provide continuing education and customized training for business and industry. Develop learner-centered instructional strategies, collaborative curriculum and assessments for continuous improvement. Plan, develop, and implement instructional strategies; advise students on assignments, tests, grades, and career concerns; design and administer skill assessments; collaborate with other programs and divisions; maintain office hours and adhere to college policies; support training needs of business partners and clients; maintain instructor competencies aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System; participate in staff development and diversity initiatives; demonstrate commitment to the college’s mission, vision, and values. Minimum qualifications include an earned bachelor’s or associate degree as described above, plus relevant work experience and/or teaching experience as specified, with the possibility of substitutions between industry experience and teaching time as outlined in the posting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, Technology Education, Career and Technical Education, or a closely related discipline. AND 2 years of related work experience for the discipline. One year (2,000 hours) of related work experience must be within the past five (5) years. Two years of full-time equivalent teaching experience in a related area at an accredited college within the past five (5) years may be substituted for the one year of related work experience within the past five (5) years.
- Bachelor's degree alternative: OR 1) Associate's degree in Mechanical Design or related field from an accredited College or University. AND 2) Four (4) years or 8,000 hours of related work experience.
