Job Summary
Answer homework questions for grades K-8, review instructions, and proofread assignments to help students understand requirements and improve their work. Connect youth with library resources, teach basic study skills, and encourage participation in STEAM enrichment activities during non-academic periods. Report participation statistics to managers while supporting the Library's mission of connecting people with ideas and information. Requires working irregular hours including evenings and weekends, lifting up to 50 pounds, and demonstrating commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Lifting objects up to 50 pounds and carrying them short distances [50 feet or less] is required
- Pushing carts of library materials up to 150 pounds may be required
- Working irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, is required
- Current high school students must provide a transcript to demonstrate proficiency in math and language arts
