Job Summary
Develop and implement high-quality tutoring experiences by assessing students' individual needs, providing individual and small group instruction, and supporting the use of digital tools during sessions. Collaborate with the ML teacher to determine specific student needs and communicate with staff regarding student progress. Maintain a clean and orderly environment while monitoring student safety and well-being during inclusive activities. Perform general clerical duties, including operating office machines and maintaining basic files and records. Requires North Carolina teaching licensure and at least three years of classroom teaching experience. Reports to the Director of Title III/ML.
Required Qualifications
- North Carolina teaching licensure (current or previous)
- Minimum of three years' experience as a classroom teacher, preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of research-based, current curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
- General knowledge of daily routines of the classroom
- General knowledge of student handbook rules
- General knowledge of procedures to follow in the event of an emergency
- General knowledge of the principles of organization and administration
- Some knowledge of the curriculum for the grade
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students, particularly when student is participating in an inclusive activity
- Ability to motivate students
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Ability to perform general clerical duties
- Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom
- Ability to operate common office machines
- Ability to maintain basic files and records
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments
- Must be able to use a variety of equipment and classroom tools such as computers, copiers, typewriters, calculators, pencils, scissors, and equipment for children with special needs, etc
- Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Physical requirements are consistent with those for Light Work
