Job Summary
Oversee the operation of the MVCC Health, Fitness & Recreation Center, including staff supervision, risk management, customer service, and emergency response. Lead shift teams of up to ten student and part-time staff members while mentoring them through ongoing coaching and performance feedback. Enforce facility policies, conduct pre- and post-shift inspections to mitigate risks, and partner with custodial staff to maintain cleanliness standards. Manage daily transactions such as memberships and locker rentals using RecAuto software, handle cash with strict reconciliation practices, and verify patron identification. Execute emergency action plans, document incidents, and coordinate with Campus Operations, Police, and Athletics. Deliver high-quality customer service, conduct tours, and resolve complaints during nearly 110 hours of weekly coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Maintain current Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED & First Aid certification
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and handle several tasks at once with frequent interruptions
- Strong interpersonal communication, decision making and conflict resolution skills
- Comfortable responding to emergencies & leading risk management plan
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Assist w/ lifting exceeding 50lbs
