Job Summary
Establish and implement age-appropriate routines for children following EarlyON program philosophy. Work with children and parents in groups while maintaining sensitivity to individual needs. Maintain an orderly playroom, ensure clean equipment, and set up the centre for activities. Order supplies, supervise volunteers and placement students, and enforce Health and Safety Guidelines per YWCA Toronto policies. This role supports the implementation of the EarlyON and Teen Mothers' Program within a multi-service women's organization dedicated to helping women escape violence and access safe housing.
Required Qualifications
- First Aid Certificate
- A vulnerable sector police reference check
Desired Qualifications
- An Early Childhood Education Diploma or Social Service Worker or a recognized equivalent
- 1-3 years' experience with children ages 0 to 6
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of early childhood development, theory and practice
- Skills and flexibility to work with mixed age groupings from 0 to 6
- Experience working within a multicultural environment
- Second language
