Job Summary
Load and unload freight according to DOT requirements on and off trucks using hand trucks, dollies, or pallet jacks. Sort and secure items on trucks or docks to prevent damage, handling cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, and other materials. Process daily paperwork and communicate effectively with internal and external customers while complying with federal, state, and company regulations. Work in a safe, professional manner involving standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, carrying, bending, reaching, and lifting both above and below waist level. Available Tuesday through Saturday with a 4 AM start.
Required Qualifications
- Must have command of the English language with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Must have the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
- Must pass a NON -Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination
- Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen
- Must consent to a ten-year check on work history
- You will be an at-will employee throughout your employment with PITT OHIO
- Must be available and willing to work
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift various types of materials including cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, etc.
- Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, twist, carry, bend, reach, and lift both above and below waist level
- Heavy lifting will be required
- Must be able to work in a safe and professional manner
- Must be able to comply with federal, state, and company regulations
- Must be able to process all paperwork daily associated with the execution of the job
- Must be able to work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times
