Job Summary
Teach didactic courses for the Practical Nursing program under the supervision of the Director of the School of Nursing, with a preference for specialization across the curriculum. Pursue scholarly activities, participate in school, university, and community service, and assist in advising students, curriculum development, and program evaluation. Attend commencement, pinning activities, and special university meetings while continuing professional development and training. Maintain a current and active RN license in Connecticut with at least two years of recent teaching experience in a university nursing program.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing, or BSN with intent to complete MSN within 4 years
- Current and active RN License in the state of Connecticut (or eligible)
- At least two years' experience as a practicing registered nurse
- Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of recent teaching experience in a university nursing program
- Experience in program and curriculum development
- Knowledge of current trends and practices in the specific field of study
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
