Job Summary
The Medical Technologist will perform laboratory testing in the Clinical Laboratory Blood Bank, handling moderate and complex testing, specimen analysis, and result reporting per laboratory protocols. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining lab equipment, ensuring accuracy in testing, processing specimens, and participating in quality assurance and safety activities. Candidates must have a Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science and completion of a recognized Medical Technology program or equivalent certifications. A minimum of 6-12 months clinical internship experience is also required.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science with completion of a NAACLS approved Medical Technology program along with certification from a nationally recognized certifying agency
- OR Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science with completion of a NAACLS approved Medical Technology program along with ASCP Certification
- OR CLIA ’88 Equivalent (HEW/HHS Certification)
- OR Registry Eligible – Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science and have completed a NAACLS accredited MT/CLS program AND be certified within a year of eligibility or be certified one year from date of hire
- Registry Eligible for a Section Certification - must have a Baccalaureate Degree with a minimum of five-years technical experience in ONE of the Clinical Areas of the Laboratory
- Minimum of 6-12 month of clinical internship as part of an approved MLS Training Program
