Job Summary
Safely transport participants to and from day programs and community outings while operating wheelchair-accessible agency vehicles, including lifts and tie-down systems. Assist individuals with entering and exiting vehicles, ensuring their safety and well-being during transportation. Complete vehicle inspections, maintain logbooks, and report maintenance concerns while fueling and keeping agency vehicles clean. Communicate professionally with families, residential providers, advocates, and team members to support participant needs. Obtain and maintain required certifications including CPR, First Aid, and AED.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York State Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to assist participants entering and exiting vehicles
- Ability to participate in two-person lifts when necessary
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- CPR certification
- First Aid certification
- AED certification
- AMAP certification (as required)
