Job Summary
PT Access Rep/PBX Operator at Sutter Health Solano Medical Center handles face-to-face patient interactions, registers and financially clears patients, greets patients and family members, and serves as the customer service point at the point of service. The role supports MFSS initiatives, contributes to performance measurement and data quality, and requires strong data entry, multi-tasking, and communication skills in a hospital/clinic environment. Fluency in English and another language is preferred; responsibilities include utilizing multiple patient registration/accounting systems, telephone consoles, document imaging, and payment posting while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. The position is per diem/casual with day/evening/night shifts and part-time hours.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- Associate's degree preferred
- Experience in hospital or clinic environment or financial counseling/financial clearance/customer service in healthcare or financial services
- Strong data entry and computer systems skills (patient registration/accounting systems, payer websites)
- Excellent verbal and written communication and active listening skills
- English plus another language preferred
- EMTALA and consent laws knowledge (preferred)
