Job Summary
Conduct clinical laboratory testing and assess blood products for acceptability while ensuring all work is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, manage supply inventory, and prepare specimens for testing in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Follow established policies to maintain the highest quality of results. This part-time role includes 3pm-11pm shifts with weekend and holiday rotations, requiring 1-2 nights of on-call coverage weekly. The position involves lifting up to 30 pounds and handling potential biohazardous substances daily. Reports directly to the Laboratory Services Supervisor at the Bethlehem location.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or a related science field
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Must possess strong attention to detail
- Must possess critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle changing priorities
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to perform small and concise movements
