Job Summary
Provide direct assessment and care to residents and supervise nursing department employees to ensure quality care. Deliver emergency services within the independent living community while evaluating staffing patterns. Maintain positive customer service and problem-solve situations by developing interventions and solutions. Supervise nursing assistants with experience in long-term care regulations and procedures. Attend mandatory trainings and keep certifications current, including CPR and Mandatory Reporter. Perform duties involving lifting over 35 pounds, moving equipment, and physical exertion such as climbing and stooping. Work the 6am-2:30 shift with a $1500 sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- current nursing license
- allowed to practice nursing in a qualifying state
- ability to do all nursing duties following long term care regulations and procedure relevant to the charge nurse scope of practice
- ability to problem solve situations and come up with interventions and solutions
- ability to supervise nursing assistants
- some supervisor experience
- ability to attend all mandatory trainings
- ability to keep current on all certifications (CPR, Mandatory Reporter, etc.)
- ability to frequently lift in excess of 35 pounds
- ability to frequently push/pull wheelchairs, carts, and other equipment
- ability to frequently climb, balance, crouch, kneel and stoop
- ability to frequently use finger dexterity and grasping
- ability to frequently use reaching and repetitive movements
- ability to work with bloodborne pathogens, chemical hazards and respiratory hazards
