Job Summary
Prometric is seeking a Psychometrician to apply psychometric theories and models in support of test development, and to provide clients with technical consultation. You will apply relevant psychometric theories to ensure valid interpretation of test results, oversee test assembly and scoring activities per industry standards, write analytical reports, conduct Q&A with clients, and support item development and test development activities. Responsibilities include developing psychometric structures for various exams, performing data collection design, item analysis, IRT calibration, equating, linking, scaling, scoring, standard setting, generating technical reports, quality control, DIF/fn analyses, model fit checks, dimensionality checks, forensic data analysis, and providing guidance to global psychometric teams. Requires Masters Degree in Psychometrics or Educational Measurement (Ph.D. in related areas preferred), experience with CTT/IRT, and proficiency with SAS or R and IRT software. The role involves client interaction, report writing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This is a remote position with in-person placement in Baltimore, MD per posting details.
Required Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Psychometrics or Educational Measurement required
- Ph.D. in Psychometrics, Educational and/or Psychological Measurement (preferred)
- Experience with statistical analysis to inform decision making
- Knowledge of classical test theory (CTT) and IRT methodologies
- Ability to communicate with clients and provide technical explanations
- Proficiency in statistics and willingness to learn advanced statistics or related fields
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; especially statistical functions in Excel
- Familiarity/proficiency with IRT software such as BILOG-MG, WINSTEPS or flexMIRT (preferred)
- Experience using SAS or R to clean, manage, and parse data; generate reports, tables, and figures
- Ability to document psychometric processes and produce technical memoranda/reports
- Experience supporting global/ international client analyses and reporting
