Job Summary

Conduct evidence-based diagnostic assessments, administer standardized instruments, and write comprehensive reports with treatment recommendations for clients experiencing work-related psychological stress and trauma-related disorders. Provide individual and group psychological interventions while designing individualized treatment plans in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team. Function as an effective member of the Operational Stress Injury Clinic team, liaising with community agencies and service providers. Supervise pre-doctoral residents, practicum students, and non-registered staff; teach medical interns and residents; and offer training and professional consultation for other health-related disciplines. Participate in program development, evaluation, and quality improvement activities, including Measurement-Based Care through CROMIS. Carry out clinically-oriented research, write peer-reviewed grant proposals, and design satisfaction surveys. Deliver education to stakeholders such as VAC District offices. Maintain professional integrity by adhering to college guidelines, the Canadian Code of Ethics, and The Royal's policies on documentation and workload measurement.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate from a CPA/APA Accredited Clinical Psychology Program
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario
  • Autonomous practice
  • Authorized area of practice in Clinical Psychology
  • Authorized client population in Adults
  • CPA/APA accredited internship/residency (or equivalent) in clinical psychology
  • Five years experience in clinical mental health
  • Clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of: Trauma and stress related disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, substance use disorders, using evidence-based approaches
  • Training in evidence-based therapies for PTSD, depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders, required such as PE, CPT, EMDR, CBT, BA, MBSR
  • Experience working in an interdisciplinary service delivery model
  • Sensitivity to the unique needs of military/police services personnel who are experiencing service related mental health problems
  • Knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation principles and practices
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills and ability to establish and maintain good working relations
  • Effective mentoring and clinical supervision skills
  • Strong knowledge, demonstrated ability, and experience in program development, evaluation, and research
  • Experience providing clinical services via OTN, or other virtual platforms
  • English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, comprehension, reading & writing
