Job Summary
Provide evidence-based assessment, psychotherapeutic, and behavioral interventions to patients and families, including case management, school advocacy, and interdisciplinary care coordination. Supervise psychology interns and fellows on clinical behavioral interventions and ensure all services adhere to federal, state, and national regulatory standards. Develop and implement patient programming initiatives, cultivate referral sources, and assist the supervisor in reducing service delivery errors while maintaining accurate documentation and billing. Schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The role supports NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital's leading pediatric and adult orthopedic programs, focusing on complex medical histories, chronic pain, and adjustment to illness or injury.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D)
- Current license as a Psychologist in New York State
- Completion of an APA-accredited psychology internship
- Completion of a relevant psychology postdoctoral fellowship/residency in health psychology, pediatric psychology, clinical psychology, rehabilitation psychology, or related field in psychology
- Must meet NYULH medical staff credentialing criteria for psychology core privileges
- Psychologist license
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with interdisciplinary providers (e.g., physiatry, PT, OT, speech-language pathology, neuropsychology)
- Experience in evidence-based interventions for complex medical populations, including psychological evaluations and interventions for pain
- Prior clinically experience in rehabilitation psychology
- Prior experience in working in an inpatient setting
- Post doctoral fellowship in related area of rehabilitation psychology
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
