Job Summary
Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and training within multidisciplinary adult mental health teams to support high-quality patient care for older adults with complex conditions. Conduct comprehensive assessment and treatment across acute inpatient and community settings while facilitating continuous service evaluation and developing new mental health initiatives. Deliver research and teaching services to health professionals, including Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) maintenance and vehicle operation for facility-based work. Requires current AHPRA registration, Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists fellowship, and Hepatitis B and TB vaccination.
Required Qualifications
- Mandatory possession of a medical qualification from a registered tertiary institution
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current annual practising certificate
- Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
- Maintenance of CPD
- Good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration
- Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) awarded by the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service Credentialing and SoCP committee
- Maintenance of SoCP within the CSCF for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken
- Licence to Operate Vehicle (Class C motor vehicle)
- Appropriate licence endorsement to operate a Class C motor vehicle
- Hepatitis B Vaccination
- Vaccination against measles
- Vaccination against mumps
- Vaccination against rubella
- Vaccination against varicella (chicken pox)
- Vaccination against pertussis (whooping cough)
- Assessment for risk of Tuberculosis (TB)
Desired Qualifications
- Specialist Registrant status
- Completed specialist qualifications but yet to be registered as a specialist
- Significant progression towards fellowship
