Job Summary
Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment, and follow-up care to incarcerated patients while exercising independent medical judgment. Monitor psychotropic medications for effectiveness and side effects, adjusting treatment as clinically indicated. Collaborate with interdisciplinary leadership to ensure uniform services and support referrals, transfers, and crisis intervention with mental health and medical staff. Complete timely clinical documentation and participate in required meetings, consultations, and on-call services. This role delivers direct psychiatric services in alignment with professional standards and organizational guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from accredited university with specialty training in psychiatry
- Experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of practice
- Board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry
- Current DEA registration
- Current BLS certification
- Reside in the United States

- Experience in providing psychiatric services to an adolescent population
- Corrections experience
